MOVIES
Coach Carter
“Based on a true event. It tells the story of Ken Carter, a controversial basketball coach who received both praise and harsh criticism when he made national news in 1999 for suspending his team’s next games. As soon as he arrived at the dressing room, Carter imposed a strict regime, using a contract with clauses that ensured respectful behavior and dress codes: if they did not comply with them, the players, who were overly confident, would not be able to play on his team.
When, however, he was aware of the low academic performance of the young people, he forced them to resume their studies for the quarterly exams and forget to play for a while, a tremendously controversial and revolutionary decision, which nevertheless ended with unexpected results. ”
Giants to victory
“Grant Taylor has been the coach of the Shiloh Eagles for the past six years, and he has never been able to lead his team to victory. To make matters worse, Grant has to face the announcement that his beloved wife Brooke is infertile. Deep in sadness and despair, the soccer coach desperately prays to God. Just then, he receives a visit from a mysterious character who gives him a very particular message. From then on, Grant will challenge his players to have an indestructible faith in victory, and little by little, their situation will begin to change. ”
Moneyball
“The story centers on Billy Beane (Brad Pitt,‘ The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttom ’), the new general manager of Oakland Athletics, a modest baseball team (that doesn’t win too many games). It tells of his attempt to create a competitive club despite the financial difficulties he is going through, so he will have to adjust to the very small budget he has. But Billy Beane has an ace up his sleeve. Through a sophisticated computer game analysis machine, statistics are used to select team members that nobody would want in principle. This will forever change the way you sign players in the American competition. A true story of self-improvement in which, through ingenuity and a competitive spirit, success is achieved. ”
